Around two months ago I received an email from the Yahoo! office in Singapore (no idea how they found me) asking if I'd like to contribute artwork for their upcoming project, PurpleScape. It was in collaboration with other artists from different countries, and the idea was just to create anything we wanted to, no holds barred, only we had to use the color purple.

Check out the really great work by the other guys! Live illustration group Weewilldoodle was also there with their black felt pens and mind-blowing artwork.

Kwento: I received a short and rather informal email invitation two days before the event and was just told it will start at 6:30. So I arrived in the area a bit early to look around and check if the thing was really happening.

There was no mention of a dress code, but everyone I saw apparently thought it fit to come in semi-formal purple attire. Me? I was in my default shirt, jeans, and chucks. With matching bulky knapsack. And cap. Sweaty cap. (It was the day with the highest recorded temperature during summer/rainy season, as I found out in the news the day after)

Fortunately, the place is adjacent to malls. After consulting with friends through text, I picked up something with a collar and something to handle my hat hair and things went alright. Landmark saved the day! One of the organizers was an acquaintance, so I was able to dump my stuff somewhere.
